WEDDING
SCOTT—OLOUGHLIN The Catholic Church, St. Andrews, was prettily decorated for the wedding of Margaret Rachael (Ray), youngest daughter of the late Mr and Mrs John O’Loughlin, “Springpark,” St. Andrews, to Leo Austin, youngest son of Mrs Scott and the late Mr John Scott, Lyalldale. The ceremony which was followed by Nuptial Mass, was performed by the Rev. Father Murphy. S.M.. assisted by the Rev. Father Lysaght, S.M. During the Mass the choir sang Webbe’s “Kyrie” and Bordesis “Salutaris.” Mrs P. J. Hartnett presided at the organ. The bride, who v.as escorted by her brother. Mr L. A. O’Loughlin, wore an ankle length frock of cream nicolette crepe made fitting to the knees, then fully flared and finished with tiny pearl buttons. Her embroidered veil was held in place by orange blossoms and she carried a shower bouquet of freesias, narcissi and lilies. Miss Margaret Kennedy, cousin of the bride, attended as bridesmaid, wearing a frock of shrimp coloured silk chevron cut on classical lines. Her bouquet was composed of orange abutilons. Mr James O’Loughlin was best man. A reception was afterwards held in the Public Hall, the guests being received by the bride’s aunt, Miss M O’Loughlin, who wore a tailored costume of black with small white pinhead stripes. Her black hat was relieved with white. Mrs Scott, the bridegroom’s mother, wore a frock of black crinkle crepe with a silk velvet hat to tone. Later, when Mr and Mrs Scott left for the north, the bride travelled in a costume of navy diagonal cloth with a smart felt hat to match and carried a beautiful fur, the gift of the bridegroom. In the evening a dance was held when about 200 friends and guests were present. The future home of Mr and Mrs Scott will be at Washdyke.
