OBITUARY

MR J. CAFFIN. By Telegraph—Press Association WANGANUI, June 23. The death is announced of Mr James Caflin. in his 93rd year. He was formerly of Dunedin, where for many years he was a partner in the stationery firm of Messrs Wise, Cafiin, and Co. Later he was Dominion representative of Messrs Sands, McDougall (Melbourne), when he became known as the “Father of the Road.” He was the first commercial traveller in New Zealand.
