DEVELOPMENT IN QUEENSLAND. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright BRISBANE, May 21. As a result of negotiations in London with the Premier of Queensland, Mr Forgan Smith, a British company is being formed to operate on concession areas in North Queensland, held by the Commonwealth Mines Preliminary Syndicate Limited. The chairman of the new company will be Sir Hugh O’Neill, first Speaker of the House of Commons of Northern Ireland. The capital will be about £600,000. The concession covers 70,000 acres, which have been prospected for gold and other metals.
