CHICAGO FIRE

DAMAGE EXCEEDS TEN MILLIONS. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received May 21, 5.5 p.m.) CHICAGO, May 20. Work was started to-day to rehabilitate the fire-stricken area. Throughout last night, firemen continued to play water on the smouldering embers. A thorough search revealed that no one was killed, as erroneously reported. However, at least 1500 suffered injuries of one sort or other. Four hundred, including scores of firemen, were severely burned Acording to the latest estimates, the damage will exceed 10,000,000 dollars. The possibility of the conflagration having an incendiary origin is being investigated. One official commented that there had been Labour difficulties at the stock yards recently, but he made no specific charges.
