WOODBURY
CONCERT IN AID OF ORGAN FUND.
In spite of the bitter cold a very appreciative audience gathered in the Coronation Hall, Woodbury, on Friday evening, to listen to the concert items arranged by Mrs Flatman, in aid of the Organ Fund of the Woodbury Presbyterian Church. A very enjoyable and varied programme was enjoyed. During the evening Rev. W. J. Couling of Geraldine, expressed the thanks of the promoters for the very good attendance and said that the financial results were very satisfactory. The following contributed items to the programme:—Pianoforte solo, Miss D. Paterson; songs, Miss Miller (Christchurch), Miss Turner, Mr Cowie, Mr Knibb, and Mr M. Miller, all of Geraldine. The Geraldine Presbyterian Church Choir sang two glees, and the “Geraldine Players” gave two very enjoyable one act plays, parts being taken by Mesdames Kirk, Knibb, and Couling, Misses Harris and Rule, and Messrs Knibb and Grayburn. The accompaniments were played by Mrs Knibb, Miss D. Paterson, Miss C. Flatman, and Mr C. Davies who also conducted the glees. A vote of thanks was passed to the performers and drivers. Supper was provided by the ladies of the Presbyterian congregation. THE WEATHER. A bitterly cold sou’-west gale blew throughout Friday, but although the weather was threatening no rain fell. The maximum temperature during the day was 45 degrees.
