FOUND BY SEARCH PARTY
MISSING WINTON YOUTHS WELL, BUT HUNGRY By Telegraph—Press Association INVERCARGILL. May 2. At 6 o’clock this evening W. Moore and F. Davis, the two Winton youths, who were lost in the Lillburn Valley on Sunday, returned to Winton little the worse for their experience. They were discovered this morning by Mr T. Clark and party who entered the bush the previous evening. The pair had subsisted since Sunday on half a sandwich each a day. The youths saw the aeroplane yesterday afternoon but failed to attract the attention of the pilot as they were in a gully at the time and could find no dry wood to light a fire. They made for the ridge and about an hou" later again saw the aeroplane and were then able to light a fire, the smoke from which was seen by the airman, who was accompanied by Mr Clark. The latter organised the party that set out last evening, and they made for the spot where the smoke was seen in the afternoon. At 7.30 this morning Moore and Davis heard a coo-ee and returned th‘' call, the search party arriving on the scene a few monents later.
