STRAY CATS

WAR OF EXTERMINATION. By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, April 25. A war on stray cats is to be declared in Wellington, not on ordinary cats, the pets of a thousand householders, but on the scores of wanton strays that roam the city, and foremost in the offensive will be the S.P.C.A. “Cats want a clean up in this town,” declared the inspector for the Society, Mr R. A. Nicol. “There are thousands of strays roaming the city.” Characterising diseased and stray animals as a menace to the community, Mr Nicol declared that the Society was going to prosecute all people who abandoned cats and dogs.
