HEALTH STAMPS
SALES IN TIMARU Advice that Timaru ranked fifth in the Dominion so far as the sale of health stamps was concerned, was received with gratification by members of the Timaru Rotary Club at yesterday's weekly luncheon. Rotarian W. D. Campbell, treasurer of the recently-formed Health Camp Committee in Tl naru, said that the fact that Timaru came next to the four centres in the sale of stamps, was largely due to the efforts of Mr A. B. Annand, who had disposed of a large number. It had been ascertained that during the busy month December 240,000 letters were posted In Timaru. and if each of these carried a health stamp about £IOOO would be secured for the health camp in South Canterbury. He hoped that the public would respond readily to the appeal for such a fine cause. At the conclusion of the meeting Mr Annand sold stamps to the value of £5 10/- in the room.
