Hadler and the secretary J. F. Turpie. A letter was received from a group of Waimate County Hall Committees seeking support for a protest against the new Hall Licensing by-law. The chairman read the by-law in question, and after some discussion it was agreed not to object to the enforcement of the by-law. A meeting of the Domain Board was then held and it was agreed to put down a tennis court on the section opposite the Public Hall. LIBRARY DANCE. On Friday evening a most successful dance was held in the Lyalldale School in aid of the upper Otaio Library funds. A Monte Carlo waltz was won by Miss Carter and Mr. Percy Gray. Music was supplied by Miss Mary McPhail, extras being supplied by Mrs. Joines and Mrs L. A. Bishop. During the evening several songs and recitations were given. An attractive supper was served and dancing was enjoyed until 2 a.m. The president, Mr Robert Gray thanked those present for their support and Mrs. Henry for the use of the piano. Mr. J. Hart was master of ceremonies. The evening was very successful, both socially and financially.
