LIVING WAGE
SURPRISE REDUCTION IN AUSTRALIA. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph —Copyright SYDNEY, October 23. State Ministers generally are lurprised at the reduction of the living wage by 2/- a week, and the Cabinet will discuss the subject this week. A section of Ministerialists suggested that legislation should be Introduced to readjust the basis of fixing the living wage. While the Government Is showing a disposition to avoid the reduction ordered by the Court, a number of business organisations are considering similar action. Messrs Snow, Limited, announced that they will not reduce the wages of any employee In accordance with the Court's declaration.
