HIGH SCHOOL OLD BOYS’ ASSOCIATION

MEETING OF EXECUTIVE. A meeting of the executive of the High School Old Boys’ Association was held on Monday night. Present— Messrs A. N. Leslie (president), A. J. Allport, N. A. Moore, H. Washbourne, C. Thomson, R. Johnson, A. Aitken, R. Morrison and J. Lennon. The president reported that six miniature cups to be won outright had been offered by Mr. M. Dunn, an Old Boy, for allocation at the discretion of the committee in connection with Old Boys’ Day at the School on Labour Day. It was decided to thank Mr Dunn for his offer which was accepted. Final arrangements were made for Labour Day and the indications are that there will be a good gathering of old boys to take part in the programme comprising cricket matches at the School Park in the morning, fives, tennis, swimming, shooting and athletic events at the School in the afternoon and a ball in Caroline Bay tearooms in the Evening. Reference was made to the success of B. V. Wright, an old boy of the School, in winning the amateur golf championship of New Zealand, and m being runner-up in the amateur championship foursomes, and a letter of congratulation is being sent to him.
