PRODUCE PRICES AFFECTED. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright LONDON. October 15. Lack of inquiry has been responsible for a weakening In Australian and New Zealand butter, somewhat surprising the market, which was attempting to hold the price of the finest grades. Little speculative demand for forward butter is expected. Cheese also is a difficult market and the withdrawal of speculative support caused further weakness. Eggs are easier, but a decline in home and Danish production is anticipated, resulting in wider distributon of colonals. LONDON WOOL SALES. Messrs Dalgety and Co. Ltd., Timaru. have received the following cablegram from their London Office under date October 11:—Wool sales closed active, w*ith strong tone, and competition more general. As compared with the closing rates of last series, prices were higher as follows:—Greasv merino Id to lid, scoured merino id to lSd. greasy halfbred Id to lid, scoured halfbred lid to 2d. greasy fine crossbred 3d to Id, greasy -rossbred. medium Id to Id. greasy crossbred, coarse id ‘"i 3d. scoured crossbred id to 3d. fine slipe id to Id, other descriptions slipes 3d to Id, lambs id to Id.
