GOLD FOR EVENING.

A colour that will be much worn during the next few months is a rich shade of old gold. Many lovely even-

ing gowns are made of dull-surface material in this tone, and others of “crackle," "bubble,” or fine fiattenedribbed fabrics. Thick satiny marocain is used, too, but the colour is not a great success in ordinary satin.

The finest possible moss wool in the old gold shade is used for some original evening gowns. They are ususally ordered for holiday wear, as the material does not crush in packing, and there is a comforting weight in it

which keeps it trim. Old gold is a good colour, so if you are going for a holiday cruise choose some old gold frocks to take with you.
