BY STUDENT

United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright

LONDON, June 6.

Gaining admission to the Legation Library, an Afghan student, Kemal Syed, fired five revolver shots at the Afghan Minister, Sirdar Mohammed Azziz Khan, the eldest son of the King of Afghanistan. The Minister was wounded in the lung and died in hospital. *

Syed was arrested.

Serious Plot Revealed.

The Berlin correspondent of the “Daily Express” says that following the murder of the Afghan Minister, the police are piecing together clues pointing to an existence of world-wide conspiracy by Russian agents, in conjunction with the Afghan exiles to overthrow the Afghan Government, which is regarded as too proBritish and to restore ex-King Amanullah, who is a friend of the Soviet. Besides murdering the Afghan Minister, Syed shot and seriously wounded a fellow Afghan student, a nephew of the Minister, who, when he saw Syed’s revolver, threw himself at the Minister in an attempt to save him.
