MINIATURE RIFLES
CLAREMONT. The Claremont Miniature Rifle Club fired the third practice shoot of the season last Tuesday night. There was a good attendance, and some very good shooting. A. Gillett secured the first possible (80) for the season. J. Green was next with 78. Following were the highest scores off the rifle:—A. Gillett 80, J. Green 78, L. Dunnill 77, R. Armstrong 76, Miss L. Armstrong 72, Miss C. Greig 72, J. Husband 72. F. Black 72, W. Cunningham 70, Miss Sadlier 69. WASHDYKE CLUB. The official opening shoot of the Washdyke Miniature Rifle Club was held in the Hall on Tuesday, these being a good attendance of members. The shooting was for a trophy donated by Mr W. Parlane, the president of the Club, and after two shoots-off, this was by R. Moore with 77 off the rifle. The best scores for the evening were:— R. Moore 77, A. Ross 76, W. Field 76, H. Baker 73, R. Coleman 73. T. Stocker 72, B. Moore 70, W. Pearce 70. W. Wood 70, A. Clarke 70. J. Morrow 67.
RAILWAY CLUB.
At this week’s shoot of the Railway Miniature Rifle Club, competition was for trophy No. 4 for which eleven members tied. A shoot-off will take place next week. No. 3 trophy shootoff resulted in another tie, and a second shoot-off will be fired next w’eek. W. F. Scott is the holder of the Schrader button for this week. The following were the highest scores off the rifle:—W. F. Scott 79. A. Bradley 78. E. G. Cogger 77, I. Newton 77. E. G. Graham 76. R. S. Gribben 75, W. R. Harvey 75, W. Whitley 75. D. W. Lawson 74, R. Whitley 74, G. A. McLean 73, T. W. Strachan 73. M. J. Fitzharris 72, J. W. Maloney 72. D. Parsons 72, J. Tutty 72, W. Hannan 71.
