COWIE SCHOLARSHIPS

AWARDS ANNOUNCED. The Cowie Scholarships and the New Zealand Farmers’ Co-operative Association Scholarships, which are awarded on results in the proficiency examination in Canterbury schools, were this year awarded as follows: — 343 marks—Berry, Mary; Shirley School, Cowie Scholarship. 341 marks—Woodfield, Evelyn; West Eyreton School, Cowie Scholarship. 339 marks—Milne, Graham; Christchurch Boys’ High School, Cowie Scholarship. 338 marks —Harding. Maurice; East Christchurch School. N.ZF.C.A Scholarship. 335 marks—Coleman. June; Broomfield School, N.ZF.C.A. Scholarship. , Others qualified, said the secretary of the Canterbury Education Board on Friday, but there were not suffiecient funds to grant scholarships to them.
