Ten policemen were injured, tw» critically, in disturbances at Glasgow, after an angry meeting of the Corporation, when seven Labourite councillors and a man in the public gallery were ejected by the police for creatthg a scene, because the Corporation refused to receive an unemployed deputation.
Many shop windows and motor screens were smashed by the rioters in the streets. Women shoppers took refuge in shops, tradesmen closed their premises and traffic was at a standstill till the police gained the upper hand.
