THE WEATHER
Mr F. L. Wooles. Wind moderate to strong northeast to south-east; weather unsettled, and showery at times. Dominion Meteorologist. Since yesterday afternoon a rather deep depression yesterday has developed rapidly over south-eastern Australia, while pressure remains high to the east of New Zealand. Expect moderate to strong east to north winds. Seas rather rough on the East Coast; south to moderate elsewhere. Weather cloudy, warm, and sultry, with fairly general rain, especially in the North Island, where some heavy falls are expected; more scattered at first in the South Island.
