TERRORISM IN BENGAL
GOVERNMENT’S FIRM MEASURES POPULAR SENTIMENT ON SIDE OF LAW United Press Association-By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received Sept. 30, 5.5 p.m.) CALCUTTA, Sept. 30. The Bengal Government’s determination to fight terrorism, particularly in Chittagong, is illustrated by the official statement, in which a section of the Inhabitants of Chittagong, who are known to be in sympathy with the terrorists, have been warned, that unless they produce before October 15, sufficient evidence to lead to the apprehension of perpetrators of Saturday’s outrage, a heavy collective fine will immediately be imposed. The Government is satisfied that it is impossible that the raid could be made without knowledge of many residents. Prominent Moslem members of the Central Legislation, including Bengalis, have issued a statement assuring the Government of their unqualified support for the measures for crushing out the activities of Bengali and Hindu anarchists. The victims of the Calcutta crime are progressing. Watson still has two bullets in his body. The milsing assailant has been captured.
