CARPENTERS’ REQUEST TO MINISTER. By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, February 9. A suggestion that steps should be taken to proceed at once with work on the National Museum and Art Gallery was made to the Minister in Charge of Unemployment (Hon. J. G. Coates) to-day, by Mr. C. Baker, organiser in Wellington district for the Amalgamated Society of Carpenters and Joiners.

Mr. Coates said he would not lose sight of the matter, and he would be glad to discuss the whole question with his colleagues.
