PERSONAL.
The Director of Town Planning (Mr T. W. Mawson), is expected to arrive in Timaru to-day. Congratulations to Mr H. B. S. Johnstone, of Otaio, on his appointment to the Transport Board, were offered by the Mackenzie County Council at yesterday’s meeting. The chairman (Mr C. J. Talbot), said that Mr Johnstone, who was well-known as an ex-chair-man of the Waimate County Council was a level headed man, whose sound judgment and ability should be of great use to a Board, whose task was anything but easy.
