RACE FOR KING'S CUP.
WON BY SHAMROCK. British Official Wireless (Received August 5, 5.5 p.m.) RUGBY, August 4. The race for the King's Cup .at Cowes was won by Sir Thomas Lipton’s yacht, Shamrock, in 4 hours 16 minutes. It is the first time that Sir Thomas Llpton has been able to enter for this trophy. The King’s cutter, Britannia, was scratched from the race by His Majesty, following the accident yesterday, when the second mate was swept overboard and drowned.
