There is no material change in the positions of candidates following the ■counting of the outstanding votes and postal votes. The state of the Parties is unchanged. Other States Pleased. “Tasmania is the first State that has had an opportunity of expressing an opinion through the ballot box on the question of sound measures or currency inflation,” said the Premier of Queensland (Mr A. E. Moore). “The decision of the people of Tasmania is of national significance.” The Leader of the Federal Opposition, Mr J. A. Lyons, said he was pleased at the Nationalist victory in Tasmania, because it showed clearly that Tasmania would have nothing to do with fiduciary currencies or policies of repudiation. The Leader of the Opposition in South Australia (Mr R. Butler) said that the swing to the Nationalists in Tasmania is more than anything else a vote of no-confidence in the Scullin Government. In his opinion this expression of Tasmania's attitude indicated what would happen throughout Australia if there were a Federal election to-morrow. Was it any wonder that Mr Scullin is afraid to face the electors? he asked.
