United Press Association—By Electrlo Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, April 29. At the wool sales. 9604 bales were offered, including 3121 bales of New Zealand wool. About 7920 bales were sold. There was a good offering of all descriptions. The opening prices were fully maintained. ST. ANDREWS SALE. At the St. Andrews sale yesterday about 300 fat ewes were offered, and most of them were purchased by exporters, making from 4/4 to 7/4. In the fat lamb section 800 were sold, and the quality was better than usual, showing how well lambs have done during the dry weather. Best lambs made up to 15/-, and one lot not very well finished fetched 12/5. A line of 100 2-tooth Romney wethers realised 14/-. Not many stores came forward, but anything showing condition in the lamb section was sought after, a line of m.s. lambs making 11/-, and some i-bred wethers sold for home killers were knocked down at 12/-. Aged ewes were sold at 4/6, 5/- and 6/3. A line of 4-tooth Romney ewes was passed in at 17/-. Weaner pigs made up to 14/-. Four draught horses were offered after the sheep, only one being sold at £l2. Very few cattle came in, and late rates were maintained. CHRISTCHURCH STOCK EXCHANGE. LATEST QUOTATIONS.
