EDUCATION PROBLEMS
SPECIAL INQUIRY SUGGESTED. By Tttl«frapn—Pres* AssooU ‘.on DUNEDIN, April 10. In opening the annual meeting of the Otago branch of the Educational Institute, Mr L. F. De Berry (president) gave an address on fundamental problems in education. In the course of his remarks he suggested that the Department should set up a special Committee to report on the question of teacher’s salaries—primary, secondary and technical. The Committee should be composed of officers of the Department, a representative of teachers, and representatives of industry. The business man had a definite interest in the question of education, and his opinion should be worth having.
