CONTROL OF ROAD TRAFFIC.
NEW ACT IN OPERATION. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received April 9. 7.0 p.m.) LONDON. April 8. More than a thousand trained observers, reporting to the Automobile Association, on the effects of the working of the new Road Traffic Act, declare that Eastertide motoring showed an appreciable improvement in driving skill. Road courtesy was recognised, and driving signals were given correctly. The average speed was slightly faster than before the abolition of the limit, but greater care w r as taken in towns and villages, and cornering showed great improvement, though there were a few cases of passing on the bends. Only 10 per cent, of the drivers were Judged guilty of bad driving.
