A message Irom Funchal, Madeira, aaya that allegedly Instigated by deportees from Lisbon, local troops, with troops sent from Lisbon to deal with the recent general strike, revolted and arrested the High Commissioner and the Civil and Military Governors, took over the telegraphs and telephones, the banks, Portugal local finance department, tad nominated General Sousa Dias governor and head of the military Junta, which has Issued a manifesto declaring that the movement aimed at abolishing the revolutionary regime. The Lisbon Government to-morrow Is despatching a cruiser and machine gun battalion to Funchal.
