The Department of Agriculture has announced that the gravity of the situation confronting the American farmer in endeavouring to dispose r»f his products abroad is emphasised by the fact that the export of the principal agriculture products dropped 408,195,000 dollars in the first few months of the current fiscal year. The dominant features of the export trade were drastic reductions In the export of wheat and flour. The report said that wheat and grain exports for February were only 137,000 bushels, the lowest month since June 1905. During the eight months ended February 28, 1931, only 56,807,000 bushels of wheat were exported, with a value of 51,582,000 dollars, compared the previous similar eight months of 73,212,000 bushels, valued at 93,983,000 dollars.
