SHOOTING ACCIDENT.

MISHAP AT RAINCLIFF. A youth named Harold Whitley, whose parents reside in Baker Street, was accidently shot with a pea-rifle i yesterday. It is understood that Whitley and two companions were on a visit to Rainpliff, and were awaiting the arrival of Mr and Mrs Whitley. One of the youths, it is stated, picked up a pea-rifle, which accidentally went off, the bullet entering Whitley’s chest. The injured youth was conveyed to Pleasant Point, where he was attended to by Dr. Benham, and was then taken to the Timaru Public Hospital in the St. John Ambulance. Information was received from the Hospital last night that Whitley’s condition was not considered serious.
