RECORD CATCH.
WHALING IN ROSS SEA. By Telegraph—Press Association INVERCARGILL, March 10. The whale chaser Star X arrived at Bluff at noon from Ross Sea. The Sir James Clark Ross, with a fleet of chasers, proceeded to Stewart Island, where she safely arrived. The delay in the return of the fleet was caused by breaking a tailshaft and the loss of a propeller on Star XIV., which had to be towed to port. The Sir James Clark Ross is reported to have over 100,000 barrels of oil—a world’s record catch.
