Five passengers and four of the crew of a Lufthansa ’plane had a narrow escape from death when a forced landing was made in Holland. Two auxiliary Air Force ’planes, belonging to the City of Glasgow bombing squadron, while looping the loop collided, in mid-air and crashed. Pilot Lamb and Flying-Officer Phillips were killed. The mechanic jumped clear and landed safely by parachute.
