GERMAN AEROPLANE DESTROYED United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received March 8, 5.5 p.m.) BERLIN, March 7. Five passengers and four of the crew of a Lufthansa ’plane had a narrow escape from death when a forced landing was made in Holland. All got out when there was a tremendous explosion, the ’plane being immediately smashed to atoms.

Two auxiliary Air Force ’planes, belonging to the City of Glasgow bombing squadron, while looping the loop collided, in mid-air and crashed. Pilot Lamb and Flying-Officer Phillips were killed. The mechanic jumped clear and landed safely by parachute.
