AEROPLANE PAGEANT.
GREAT DISPLAY AT BLENHEIM. By Telegraph—Press Association. BLENHEIM, March 8. The Marlborough Aero Club’s third annual pageant was held at Woodbourne on Saturday in glorious weather. The proceedings opened with the biggest formation flight yet seen in the ( Dominion, two formations of thirteen' and ten machines respectively sweeping across the sky at a low elevation, while half a dozen faster machines circled around them. Competition in the various events was exceptionally keen, pilots competing from all parts cf New Zealand, from Auckland to Dunedin. The only Club not represented as a club was Auckland. The machine piloted by Captain Buckley was one which figured in a recent accident in which the Director of Air Services was involved in Canterbury. It was described then as completely wrecked, but the report was evidently exaggerated. Lieutenant Haakon Quiller, of «fae Norwegian Air Force, made two successful descents by parachute during the afternoon.
