No bars or fences new obstruct the view of the bears in the Leipzig Zoo. The new “Barenburg” is completed and its occupants can wander about at will over artificial cliffs, separated from the observers only by a deep ditch some 13ft. wide. There is a toboggan slide for the polar bears, ending in a great pool, and trees arc available for the Malay - an bears.
