At yesterday’s meeting of the Canterbury Education Board, the following resignations were accepted:—Mr C. R. Rollinson (Timaru West), and Miss V. C. Hamilton (Waihao Downs). In the “Gazette," it is notified that the appointment by the ConsulGeneral for Norway, at Sydney, of Mr V. E. Hamilton, as Honorary Royal Norwegian Vice-Consul at Christchurch, has been provisionally recognised. Members of the United Party and their wives met Mrs G. W. Forbes, who is to accompany the Prime Minister to the Imperial Conference in London, and presented her with a travelling rug. The presentation was made by the Minister of Public Works (Hon. W. B. Taverner), who referred to the social qualities of both Mr and Mrs Forbes, and expressed a hope that their trip i would be a pleasant one.—Press Assn*
