KILLED BY LORRY.
MEMBER OF UNLUCKY FAMILY. By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, August 22. As a result of a collision between a motor lorry and a bicycle at the intersection of Hanson and Hall Streets, Wellington South, at about five o'clock to-night, George Allan Turnbull (17), a telegraph messenger, was so badly injured that he died while being taken to the public hospital. The boy was proceeding downhill along Hall Street in an easterly direction 'when he collided with a lorry belonging to T. A. Wells Ltd., oil and colour merchants, and driven by Albert Edward Collins. The boy was severely injured in the region of the head, and also received abrasions to the arms and legs. Deceased is a son of Mr John James Turnbull, of Farmham Street, Morning ton. Some eight years ago Mr Turnbull lost another son in rather tragic circumstances. In company with a man named Thomas Philip, Henry Turnbull (23), was engaged in excavating a building section in Balfour Road. Mornington, when the bank began to move, and he was killed by a fall of earth. Thomas’s two children were caught by falling earth, but were practically uninjured. George Turnbull, who was killed yesterday, narrowly escaped from being killed about six years ago, when he was knocked down by a motor-car in Newtown receiving severe internal injuries. For about two years he was in hospital, and had not long recovered.
