HEAVY LOSSES.
RAILWAYS IN NEW SOUTH WALES. United Press Association— By Electric Telegraph—Copyright SYDNEY, August 18. Chief Railway Commissioner, Mr Cleary, stated that without the rationing of work in the New South Wales railways, the Commissioners would be justified in dismissing 5000 men. In the last financial year the railways carried 2,500,000 tons of freight less than in the previous 12 months.
