PLEASANT POINT.

CALEDONIAN SOCIETY. At a meeting of the Pleasant Point Caledonian Society, the directors present were—Messrs Blissett, Crawford, Halstead, Struthers. Murphy. Maze. Simmons and Mclntosh. Apologies were received from Messrs Wooffidin, Arnott and Kelliher. A small loss was reported in connection with last year's sports, due principally to fewer entries being received. The Society, through Mr H. Wooffindin’s valued services had to be congratulated in still holding a large membership. SCHOOL GAMES. Teams from the primary department of the Geraldine District High School visited Pleasant Point and contested games of basketball and football against the home school teams. Geraldine won the B grade basketball, and Pleasant Point were successful in the A grade. The football match resulted in a win for Pleasant Point by 9 to nil. MINIATURE RIFLE CLUB. The weekly shoot of the above Club held on Monday night, was well attended, when the 4th round of the “Herald” Shield competition was fired. This week’s trophy and tl>e Bowman weekly button were won by C. Gould, while P. Simmons was only one point behind. Scores off the rifle were: C. Gould 80, 9, 79, 80; W. T. Taylor 80. 79; R. Barker 79, 75; C. Henriksen 79, 76; R. Gliddon 79; H. D. Roberts 78; H. Webb 78; C. T. Borrell 78. 77; A. Borrell 78, 77, 75; J. Stevenson 78, 78, 76; H. Elms 78; F. Roberts 78; R. Mcllwrick 78; H. Hammond 77. 76; C. Thoreau 77, 77; F. B. Wilson 76. 76; P. B. Benham 75; E. Wright 75, 72; P. Simmons 74, 77, 77, 77; A. Murphy 74; F. Malcolmson 75; C. Cox 74, 73; S. Gray 73; R. Welch 72, 70; H. Dossett 70; C. Henderson 70; G. Dossett 70; M. Smith 70; P. Hunt 70; G. Smith 70; G. Sheehan 65. The previous week’s trophy, which was donated by Mr F. H. Friel, and the Bowman weekly button was won by C. Henriksen with 76, 77, 79. The runnerup was W. T. Taylor with 80, 80, 79.
