Mr George Wright (82), who when he retired last year, was the “father” of the Auckland City Council, and his wife were both knocked down by a motor van last night, when crossing the road. Cunningham (65), a third-class passenger on the Rangitiki, died on July 24, on the voyage from Southampton to Wellington. Mr Cunningham suffered from heart trouble, and ailed for the greater part of the voyage. He was buried at sea.
