ARAPUNI BREAK.

PREPARING FOR INVESTIGATION. By Telegraph—Press Association. HAMILTON, August 2. It is understood that operations on the Arapuni spillway bed, between the dam, and the river, will be commenced on Monday, in anticipation of the arrival of Professor G. P. Homwell, a Swedish expert engaged by the Government to report. Indications show that it is probable that the bed will be cleaned to enable a thorough inspection of the w-hcle channel to be made; and that further shafts will be sunk in the neighbourhood of cracks, so as to try discover the causes of leakages.
