PAPER PULP INDUSTRY.

The bright future that has been painted for New Zealand as a Paper Pulp Manufacturing Company has been referred to by the Honourable W. Dowhie Stewart in the House some time ago. Mr Stewart said the Forestry Department had interested itself in the matter and extensive reports had been obtained on the question of manufacturing paper in -New Zealand, officers having been sent to America to gather the latest information. Several people interested in the business had visited New Zealand and had carried out investigations. The opinion has been expressed that no doubt the Dominion would have a great Paper Pulp industry some day, and that it was destined to become one of the best centres in the world for paper pulp production. Although nothing had been achieved regarding the manufacture of pulp in New Zealand a great many people were nibbling at the question
