EUCHRE AND DANCE. An enjoyable euchfre party and dance was held in the Public Hall on Wednesday evening. The function was organised by Misses Rita Leemihg and Norah Scannell to raise funds for their fancy stall at the Roman Catholic bazaar in Timaru. Thirty tables were occupied for cards, the following being amongst the prize winners:—Ladies, first, Mrs Richards; men, first, Mr D. Kennedy; second prizes, Mrs Dobeck, Mrs F. Hansen. After supper, the floor was cleared for dancing, music for which was supplied by a Timaru orchestra, Mr E. Cosgrove made an efficient M.C. The following were present:—Mesdames Richards, Kane, Rooney, Hansen, McCurdy, H. Dellow, O’Loughlin, Kennedy, Hartnell, Hartnett, Smith, Luscombe, Dobeck, Jeffries, Shea; Misses Kane (2), Greene, Scannell (4), Lysaght (3), Leeming, O’Loughlin (4), Greelish, Scott, O’Keefe; Messrs Rooney, Hutton, Carpenter, Daly, Shepherd, Kennedy, Hhrtnell, Hartnett, O’Loughlin, O’Brien, Green, Hatton, Scott, Smith (2), O’Connor, Reid, Higginson, Minehan, Brennan, Scannell, Coles, O’Keefe, Sheehan, Cosgrove, Doyle, Crowe, Taylor, Kane, and many others. MOTHERS’ UNION. Tie monthly meeting of the Mothers’ Union was held in the Parish Hall on Wednesday afternoon, when tnere was a good attendance. After the devotional service, several business matters were attended to, and members engaged in a profitable discussion on the religious education of children. At the conclusion of the meeting afternoon-tea was served. ANZAC SERVICE. The Anzac Memorial service was held at the St. Andrews Memorial Cross, when there was only a failgathering of residents. The service was conducted by Rev. J. Hay, while an appropriate address was delivered by the Rev. Mr Butler. Before the services, a procession of school children marched from the school to the Memorial, carrying the school wreath.

Many beautiful floral tributes were reverently place ’’round the Memorial. Two verses of 3 National Anthem were sung, aftt. which the “Last Post” was sounded by Mr H. Dellow. Miss G. Hammond presided at the organ.
