PREVENTING RUNS.

Often women refrain from wearing sheer chiffon stockings because the tops of the stockings are not strong enough to hold the garters of the foundation garment. A run starts there at the least violent motion, and then the pair of stocking's is rendered useless.

This may be prevented, however, by a little forethought. For the first method, cut squares of material from the heavier tops of old stockings of the same colour. Sew these squares to the tops of the chiffon stockings. The second method is to cut the entire top from a stocking of heavier quality and apply it to the top of the chiffon stocking. In this way more protection is given to the thin top of the dainty stocking, and it may be worn with safety.
