THE WEATHER.

Dominion Meteorologist. The anti-cyclone which has been covering New Zealand during the past few days is still centered near Cook Strait. A deep depression is located on the western Tasman Sea. Expect winds south-easterlies at first about Cook Strait, but easterly to northerly prevailing and freshening. Seas rather rough north of East Cape and in Cook Strait; elsewhere smooth to moderate. Weather fine generally at first, but soon becoming dull and misty; rain developing in the far north and south, and gradually extending to most districts. Cold to-night, but temperatures gradually becoming milder.
