OBITUARY.

SIR GORDON GUGGISBERG. (British Official Wiralaaa.) RUGBY, April 22. Brigadier-General Sir Gordon Guggisberg has died at Bexhill, aged 61. Early this year his resignation as Governor and Commander-in-Chief of British Guinea was accepted on the ground of ill-health. He held similar office in the Gold Coast from 1919 until 1927. When he retired from the Gold Coast, 30,000 people lined the streets to bid him good-bye, for under his Governorship the country had made wonderful progress. Sir Gordon Guggisberg, who was bom in Toronto, did distinguished service in France during the Great War.
