FAIRLIE SHOW.

RECORD ENTRY LISTS. The 32nd annual show of the Mackenzie County A. and P. Society, which is to be held at Fairlie on Easter Monday, promises to be the best exhibition in the history of the Society. The entries received are a record, being well ahead of the previous record, of the 1924 show, when the total was 1785. Last year the entries were 1591. The following is a comparison for the three years, 1924, 1929, and 1930.

An interesting exhibit in the clog section will be the Old English sheep dogs recently imported by a Fairlie sheep farmer. These dogs are the only representatives of that breed in New Zealand. The sheep dog trial has an entry of 29 to compete for Mr Bussell’s prizes, and Pyne, Gould. Guinness’s Cup. In the trotting competition which was so popular last year, there are eleven entrants for the cup presented by the Waitaki Licensed Victuallers’ Association. The riding displays again should be a great attraction. The entry of trade exhxibits is large, and numerous side shows will add to the day's fun. The Mackenzie Highland Pipe Band and the Timaru Municipal Band will be in attendance and lovers of music will be well catered for. A special train at excursion fares will leave Timaru at 8.45 a.m., returning after the show. THE JUDGES. The following judges are to act at the Show:— Sheep.—Threequarter and Crossbred. Mr W. B.
