AFRICAN TOUR OF PRINCE.
Reception At Khartoum.
WONDERFUL FILMS SECURED. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) (Received April 15, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, April 15. A message from Khartoum states that the Prince of Wales received thirty native leaders, gorgeously robed in purple and wearing jewelled swords at the historic palace, including Sir Adbel Rahman, El Mahdi, eldest living son of the Dervish leader who speared General Gordon to death on the steps of the palace, when it was captured, after a desperate siege in 1835, two days before the relief force was sighted, also Sir Syred Ali, who claims to be descended from the Prophet Mahomet. The Prince of Wales, with his equerries, during the hunting trip, has taken 7000 ft. of film, including three hundred elephants crossing a river, two of which were in difficulties, and others went to their assistance.
The Prince of Wales got within forty yards, and secured come wonderful photographs.
