FIRE EPIDEMIC.
ARRESTS FOLLOW FOR ARSON. (United Press Association—By El settle Telegraph—Copyright.) SYDNEY, April 7. Half the business premises in the main street of Brewarrina were razed by fire. The town has no fire brigade, but the residents, working the council’s antiquated hose reel, aided by a bucket brigade, eventually quelled the flames. The shops were mostly wooden. The damage is estimated at £12,000. Following the fire Richard Simmons and Charles Consmas were arrested on charges of arson. They were brought before the local court and remanded.
