WORLD’S FASTEST CRUISERS.
SPECIAL TRIALS OF ITALIAN WARSHIPS. (United Press Association—By Electrlo Telegraph—Copyright.) ROME, April 7. During the speed trials, the new 2000-tons scout cruiser Nicholas Alderecco, off Ancona, registered 41.5 knots—a world’s record. Eight cruisers of this type are already in commission, in conformity with Signor Mussolini’s plan to specialise in a light, mobile high-powered Mediterranean fleet. On April 27, four new cruisers and one submarine will be launched.
