Latham, Leader of the Federal Opposition, doubts the possibility of financing a compulsory wheat pool. He says more than £30,000,000 would be required to cover a 200,000,000 bushel crop aimed at by the Government.

Mr Kilpatrick, a member of the Legislative Assembly, told the Wagga farmers that if a compulsory wheat pool were established the price for home consumption would probably be fixed at 6/- per bushel, or more. Questioned as to whether the lines of the American Farm Products Marketing Act, with a system of insuring against price decline, while wool is awaiting sale. New Zealand and South Africa woolgrowers, it is suggested, should be asked to join in fixing a minimum price of 15Jd.
