The Family Welfare Association of America, which is gathering statistics from its agencies in one hundred American cities, found a 200 per cent, increase in unemployment in thirtytwo cities, compared with last year. The expenditures for relief of the distressed, in fifty-four cities, has increased 100 per cent. The Societies in thirty-nine pities report that the prospects are for immediate improvement, but eighteen cities show poor prospects of improvement.
